Machinery Contractors (Pty) Ltd (“Machinery Contractors” or “MC”) is a Level 1 BBBEE company, established in 1993, located in the heart of Brits’ Industrial Area (North West Province):
- Machinery Contractors’ property covers an area of 20,000m², of which 5,000m² is the workshop space;
- In addition to the workshop in Brits, MC also has a 2,000m² of workshop in Jwaneng, Botswana, that services the needs of Anglo American and Debswana’s Jwaneng Mine, and the greater Botswana mining industry;
- To better service the West Africa market, in late 2024, Machinery Contractors opened up an office in Accra, Ghana.
- Specialises in earthmoving equipment attachments;
- Designs and manufactures of tried, tested and preferred earth moving attachments, MC also designs and manufactures its own Machinery Contractors range of:
- Buckets (Shovel and Excavator Buckets);
- Quick Couplers;
- Ground Engaging Tools;
- Tyre Handlers;
- Cable Reelers;
- Track Rollers;
- Diesel Bowsers;
- Water Tankers; and
- Cylinder Protectors, Ripper and Forks.
- MC have a long-standing working relationships with all major Original Equipment Manufacturer (“OEMs”);
- MC repair attachments to be as new, as an alternative to purchasing a new bucket or attachments;
- MC’s long list of over 60 customers include OEMs and Blue Chip Mining Companies like:
- Anglo American;
- Assmang;
- Barloworld Equipment;
- Catepillar;
- Komatsu;
- Tharisa;
- LiuGong; and
- Basil Read
- Machinery Contractors has produced and manufactured products that have reached all corners of Africa and gotten orders from continents like Europe, North America and Asia.
- MC has built an impressive range of fabrication facilities during the past two decades. The production floor area of over 5,000m² has been optimised for heavy engineering with stacking heights ranging between 7 and 12m. Furthermore, the operation is completely power independent.
- Machinery Contractors is a successful supplier of earthmoving equipment and components to some of the biggest mining companies in South Africa, Africa abroad;
- Our high standard of design, manufacturing and repair services are well known amongst many coal, diamond, platinum, copper and iron ore mines.
- We are situated in the industrial area of Brits, a mere 50 km from Pretoria, 100 km from Johannesburg and 70 km from Rustenburg.

Our management team is actively involved in the design, fabrication and marketing of our products. With over 120 years of accumulative experience in the industry, our management team is always on hand to offer expert advice and to guide customers through difficult and costly decisions when it comes to building, repairing or purchasing of earthmoving and related equipment.
Our Managing Director, Mr. Gordon Lester is the head of our executive team. His experience in Mechanical Engineering and related fields in diverse industry sectors has driven the company’s exponential growth to its current successful levels. His experience covers design, implementation and management of projects in General Machine Shop, Fabrication Engineering and Hydraulics.
